I’m not super experienced with helmets. I just got my first ATV but let me tell you this thing is awesome. I’m amazed you can get such a nice helmet with so many cool features for a little over $100. It’s incredibly comfortable and the build quality is surprisingly great. I actually bought a few different helmets from ILM to find the one I wanted. It was a really tough decision because they’re all really nice, but ended up going with this because of the slide down shade. Loving it so far!I am a Harley rider and I’ve always loved the style of the Dual sport helmets. So I finally pulled the trigger and got the ILM.I was a bit hesitant because, well it looks like a motocross helmet and the sun “bill” or visor sticking out from the top (potential wrenching of the neck from the visor catching the wind)I ride with a windscreen on my bike and many riders with windscreens or fairings suffer from helmet “buffering” or helmet shake. It’s from a negative air pressure behind the windscreen/fairing. Even small half helmets get the shake.1st. This helmet is light! That doesn’t mean no protection! There is TONS of protection. My head felt snug and secure. Glasses were a little messy to put on but once on, no pinching or glasses movement.2nd. The clear and shaded pull down visors are great. No imperfections to alter vision. The shaded visor does have a small amount of distortion on the very bottom but nothing I wouldn’t expect. The vision area is wide all the way around.3rd. Helmet shake/buffering is ZERO! I mean none, nada, zilch. There was no feeling of my head being wrenched back from the “bill” being caught in the wind and I even took the windscreen off for a second test run. Nada! The only drawback and this is so minor but I do mention it because it is a full-face. Wind noise is equal to wearing a half helmet or having your ears in the wind. Now, some riders do wear a full face to cut the wind noise, if you are looking for that in a helmet, I would look elsewhere. I did have the vents open on top of the helmet so closing them might change the noise.Overall. Worth every penny!!!!I purchased the ILM Dual Sport Helmet for use with my new Ducati Hypermotard. It is the right style helmet for this bike and looks great. It is comfortable and breaths well and the easy adjustability of the chin strap is a plus. The full-face visor lets you skip the goggles and tucks nicely out of the field of view when up. Peripheral vision is more than adequate with the visor up or down. The drop-down sun visor is not something I use but good to know it is there if I forget my sunglasses.Overall, a great purchase.I bought this back when it was under the current price, so this will review will be judged off that ($90). This is a very comfortable helmet; I could wear it all day honestly. The padding has a lining that is super soft to the touch and is removable as well. I love the ability to change between having no visor, a sun shield and goggles, to a visor with no sunshield, etc. The built-in sunglasses work well, and the ventilation of the helmet is fairly decent as well. The breath box does a good job against fogging up if wearing the helmet correctly. I like the strap instead of the d-ring, it has a little tab you can pull to quickly release the strap so you can take the helmet off quickly. I wear glasses and they feel secure with the helmet on, it doesn't seem to put any pressure on them. I trust this helmet for my quad riding and driving my Dr200 around. I feel like it is perfect for that application. I don't know if I would take this helmet for sport bike and high-speed riding. I love this helmet and I'll continue to keep using its long as I can, it is a solid 4.5 stars for me, putting aside the minor gripes that I have with it. (Which Isn't much)Like this product a lot. Exactly what I needed. Good fit, visors are great.I have used this helmet for street and off-road everyday in the summer, I have now owned it for 1 year and 4 months and it has definitely stood the test of time. The helmet is very comfortable and the padding is removable and washable. The visor has zero scratches in it even after having rocks kicked into it from bikes roosting in front. I would also like to point out I did a 300 mile trip with is and hit monsoon level rain on the highway and my head stayed completely dry so bonus points there. All in all it has held up nicely to the daily abuse it had to endure. The only "con" is that it is somewhat hard to turn your head going 70+mph but that is the nature of all ADV and MX helmets.Very good productThis is great protection from any potential fall and great protection from the sun. Very comfortable and lightweight. Great value for the money. I highly recommend it.I measured my head and followed the sizing guide and what was sent feels too tight. Since this helmet is so well priced I figure I’ll try to wear it in a bit. They always become looser over time anyhow. It is well constructed, feels high quality, has ok aerodynamics. I wouldn’t say it’s quiet but I wear earplugs anyhow. Mainly bought this for off road low speed riding. It works well on the highway though you can feel the drag of the visor. Easy to remove it. It’s not modular so if you’ve had a modular helmet you’ll feel a little trapped. The built in sunglass visor is a nice touch and the main visor works well and is fairly correct as far as I can tell. I can see clearly. There’s not a lot of ear space to install speakers so I probably won’t. Again it’s for mostly off road use. Will report later. Dollar for dollar if it fits you and you can wear an oval shaped helmet (your head is NOT shaped like a pumpkin) then you should be fine. For starters, I only started ebiking during the pandemic, and purchased a fairly powerful 4" fat tire ebike last January. I immediately lowered my psi to 7, and went off on well-walked on snow covered trails around where I live. I quickly found out how much fun riding in the winter can be. I also found out how painful it is to fall on black ice so not only did I purchased this helmet, I also put on studded tires. The helmet looks and feels great. I've only used it once last weekend. I should have stayed home as the snow on the waterfront trails in the Toronto area were covered still in deep snow that make riding almost an impossibility. I hiked-a-bike for 3km. Not a lot of fun, but man did I get a workout.I took a fall during the ride, but landed in so much drift that it was like falling into a giant bean bag. No impact to the head at all and no connection to the concrete walkway somewhere below. At all. So I can't say I've tested the helmet to it's full potential....hopefully never have to.But, I ended up ordering up a size up and got the XL. Wearing only a thin balaclava, I'm still able to comfortably slide into the helmet and didn't feel uncomfortable in the fit during the ride.I did however, get so hot that I ended up taking it off. But that was only because of the aforementioned hike-a-bike. It was actually less exhausting doing that, than trying to ride. To say I got hot would be a vast understatement. My clothes were soaked. But I digress...The helmet feels like a premium motorcycle helmet (I used to ride), and is way more comfortable than any other helmets I owned when I did ride.It comes in a nice drawstring bag for storage, which is great if you want to keep it in the garage by your bike/ATV etc....The chin clasp is easy to use and I was able to use it even with my medium thick riding gloves on. Actually, the same can be said for the drop-down sunglasses, which I also was easily able to operate without taking off my gloves.Until the hiking portion of my ride, I wasn't experiencing any fogging of the clear visor. After seeing how exertion caused the helmet to fog, I would caution any hardcore mountain bikers and winter riders (non ebike) to be aware of fogging issues once you heat up.But on an ebike, riding 15+ km/h, with regular output, this helmet shouldn't fog up.If anything changes on my opinion, I'll make sure to update, but for now, I'm very happy with this purchase.I may have gotten a helmet with a bad visor seal. I am experiencing a lot of wind creeping through the visor seams and in turn its drying my eyes out, promoting early fatigue. The drop down inner visor does not come down far enough and creates a glare, it is also not very tinted and has an off green hue. That glare that comes off that edge of the inner visor has been dangerous at times, blinding me as I drive into a sun set and distracting me on a normal drive.I have a Torc T15 helmet and the complaints I speak of here are void within the T15.It's a possibility that I got a bad helmet from ILM because I do see lots of good reviews.Pros- Soft padding on the inside feels nice on the face, and the helmet looks good in general.Very nice helmet! For the money I couldn’t find better and jealous I didn’t get this one for myself. I got it for my 6 year old son and bought the small. The latch is also solid and easy for him to release it.Holds perfect on his head and very comfortable. Compared to other helmets I tried buying this one is a real hard & steady one.Couldn’t ask for more. Definitely recommend this!Previous to this, I ordered the same helmet in a size small - which was too tight for me because I did not measure my head properly. The helmet, however, featured qualities I found better than another much more expensive riding helmet I have. The helmet, considering it features a sun visor and a retractable tinted visor inside the helmet, was relatively light weight, it featured a quick release strap that my other helmet did not have, it was quieter than that helmet, and was air tight in the sense there is no wind/air slipping into the helmet while cruising on the highway contributing to its quietness. Overall, I thought it was a very well made helmet and very reasonably priced. I could not resist ordering the same helmet in the proper sizing. I am very happy with this helmet now despite of my initial mistake of ordering the wrong size.
