Perfect quality perfect fit! He loved it thank you!I have 2 of these, an older with adjustable cuffs & I prefer the newer version better. I find I’d warm mostly wind proof & pretty rain resistant. It has room for layering, a roomy hood & large pockets. It kept me plenty warm & dry on an October Oregon trip.I needed a wind resistant jacket with a hood - this is a great jacket - well built.I wore this jacket for over one week straight for my visit to New York, New York. The built-in hood was a lifesaver for the winds and rains in NYC. With no umbrella, I was able to walk in the rain without getting soaked. I ordered one size larger than usual to be able to layer up for walking around NYC. And fits great with an adjustable waist that I never had to use. And the best part about this jacket is that it was 20% below my local store's sale prices for the same jacket. One of my favorite winter jackets I have worn for a long time. 5 stars all the way for this jacket on performance, comfort, and quality.The North Face products have never let me down, until I ordered the Apex Bionic 2 Hoodie. I loved the color and the look of this jacket. The weight was perfect, heavy enough for low 50's. The fit however was horrible. I am 6'2" 180lbs., picture a T-Rex, long legs/torso and little arms, that's me. The jacket felt like I was wearing a crop top(I ordered a large, just like all my other TNF jackets). If I lifted my arms the bottom of the jacket would pass my stomach! Come on'! It sat very high on my chest, the collars were in my face and just didn't fit. The material was semi-rigid and didn't flex/move well (Note: I did not wash it, I am fairly certain this would help the material relax.). Even adjusting the waist draw strings, every time I moved a gap would open up somewhere and let a bunch of cool air in, to the point where it didn't feel like I had a jacket on. TNF offers this jacket in a Tall model, but without the hoodie! The materials and build are what you'd expect from TNF. If TNF offered this jacket in a (THE HOODIE) in a Tall I'd be wearing it right now. Also, where did the adjustable wrist straps go? That was disappointing, especially when this jacket is marketed for wind and rain.Im a Northface advocate. I have a closet full of their stuff. 3 Apex bionic jackets. 6 hoodies. Hiking boots. The Jim Beanies hats. Love them have 4 diff colors. But yes. The Apex bionic is a wonderful jacket. Not too crazy abour the New material. But its still nice. Hope this helpsI like how it keeps the wind out, and can tighten the pull strings at the bottom to seal it completely do no wind gets in. Stylish, light weight, but keeps you warm. 3 large pockets with zippers, and a good that zips up past ur mouth to block cold winds.Got this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. It’s not super heavy, so he can wear a sweater and be fine. It is nice enough to wear with dress up clothes or causal. The hood isn’t annoying, he usually doesn’t like them... but it lays flat.I had the OG Apex Bionic about 10 years ago but it got lost somewhere, and when I saw the new version on sale I had to get it. Same windproof qualities, the sleeves have more taper to the wrist and no longer have the velcro tabs to provide a seal against wind / water but this hasn't been an issue. Overall an improvement to the previous model. Fit is true to size (I'm 187cm / 6'2" and 80kg / 176 pounds) and the medium is perfect.
