AMMONIUM LAURYL ETHER SULPHATE (A.L.E.S.) Description Ammonium Laureth Ether Sulfate (A.L.E.S.) is an ammonium salt of ethoxylated lauryl sulfate. It is an anionic surfactant used predominantly in shampoo and body wash as a foaming agent, as it has wonderful foaming properties even in hard water. It creates rich and fine foam and works by removing dirt and impurities mixed with oils from the skin and hair. A.L.E.S. is extremely helpful for sensitive skin and mild skin concerns, as it is extremely gentle and yet effective. This product a great substitute for sulphate products, making it possible to create sulphate-free formulations. Soluble in water and alcohol, but insoluble in volatile oils.
