Not long after receiving this jacket, I was able to stand in a full on downpour for well over 30 min while I let water off of my pool. Not one drop made it in. As far as sizing I am 6ft tall about 230 and I got the XX. When I ordered I got both the xl and the xx, the xl fit but not as loose as I wanted for layering, so I kept the xx. Both jackets were exactly the same and quality. One last note the color I got which was burnt olive and I absolutely love it.
