As an esthetician and cosmetologist, I have mixed feelings about these kinds of devices being sold for home use. On the one hand, it's great to think they could be used by clients as intermittent care to help lengthen the time between spa visits. On the other hand, it is very easy to damage your skin using a product like this incorrectly, and I feel concern seeing how popular they are with people who are not trained in careful use. This particular device has limited options, which can either help prevent too much experimentation or be so limiting people may apply too much pressure or use too deep of a setting. It works fine, powers on and functions well, but it is very basic without any real settings, so I really wouldn't use it facially. Even on the highest setting, the power is a little low which makes me worry people might be tempted to press too hard or use it too long. It probably would work best for working on an area like a C-section scar or other tough area that wouldn't be at risk for collapse if the needle depth or pressure was too intense.Overall I do think the device works well and is a decent value, but it's a little on the simple side and lacks power. Possibly recommended for simpler applications but I wouldn't purchase it again. This review is for theMOOKARDILANE Professional K7 Wireless Dermapen Skin Care Tool Pen for Face and Body Electric Pink Derma Pen Microdermabrasion Pro kit w/ 2 pcs tipsMuch better than a derma roller type. Adjustable but a little hard to find the tipsThis wireless derma pen is a great treatment that can be done from the comfort of home, saving you both money and time. There are some directions to get you started, but I suggest watching some videos online before using the pen the first time, just to increase your confidence and help you get started. This is a versatile tool that can be used for a variety of reasons - wrinkles, scars, hair growth. It stimulates the skin and increases circulation, which can, in turn, help your body get to work in those target areas. You can expect mild discomfort, or moderate, depending upon how you use it and your tolerance level. This electric derma pen is a great alternative to the derma roller and a good option for microneedling beginners. Derma rollers are sometimes difficult to control in tight spots. The derma pen is great for smaller applications where you want better control during the process. A small scar or near your nose, for example, is easier to target with the pen. This is easy to use, but I sometimes find it easier to use it as a stamp, rather than gliding it across my skin. This unit is a little on the pricey side and it only comes with two replacement cartridges. I would suggest looking into replacement cartridges before ordering. If you found this review useful, please take a moment to click "helpful." Thank you!I've used dermarollers for a while and found them to be helpful for improving skin tone and texture. I suffer from some acne scars and want to try to reduce their appearance. I've been reading more about the benefits of dermapens and some of the advantages they offer compared to rollers. For one, when rollers are used, they can actually cause more damage to the skin due to the way the needle moves across the skin. The advantage of the pen or dermastamp is that it goes in and out of the skin at a perfectly straight angle. Dermapens also provide better and more even coverage. And lastly, the rapid motion of the dermapen makes it more efficient and effective than rolling. This MOOKARDILANE Professional K7 Wireless Dermapen is nice because it has an easy to adjust length control dial for the needles. You can also adjust the speed from 5 different settings. I followed a few videos to gain confidence before using it. It worked well and did not overly irritate my face. I definitely prefer using it over a dermaroller. The biggest issue I have with it is that it only comes with 2 cartridges and I cannot find replacement options available. I'm not sure if it is cross compatible with some of the other replacement cartridges on the market, but it says "Fit K7 bayonet slot type cartridges" and I cannot find any of those. I hope this brand plans on releasing replacements soon. Lastly, I found the price to quite expensive in comparison to similar items so it is hard to justify why this product is worth the extra money. But overall, I did find this dermapen to work well and I look forward to continue using it for improving my skin. Before Covid, I visited a spa regularly so I never tried anything that required some kind of tools I wasn’t comfortable with. But when I couldn’t get my regular hydral facial, I tried to find alternatives that I can do at home. That’s when I found out about a home kit for microneedling. The first thing I tried was one from beauty bioscience GloPro, which cost me well over $200. Long story short, it wasn’t for me and the device broke down soon after anyway. Then I got a skincare derma roller which cost me less than $20, and it wasn’t for me either. Now my spa is open and I am back to my normal routine. But when this showed up on my recommended page, I became curious. So I requested it, thinking God forbid, this new Covid variant interrupts my Spa routine again, this might come in handy. So far out of three I tried, this is definitely a better choice. A lot more comfortable on my skin compared to other derma rollers aforementioned. Now, at the time of this review, a $50 coupon is being offered, which makes it quite attractive. But this is my first Dermapen other than derma rollers, so I cannot compare this to similar ones offered at comparable prices. I can only say, if you have been enjoying using a derma roller, I would definitely recommend this as this quite feels like an upgrade.
