THE NORTH FACE Women's Metropolis Insulated Parka III - Winter Waterproof Warm Coat for Hiking, Skiing & Outdoor Activities

I wanted to update my Northface that I’ve had for many many years. It truly served me well and is still in working condition but is starting to show signs of wear. I am from the Midwest and am currently living elsewhere, but that Midwest foundation allows me to understand the importance of a good sturdy and warm coat.I purchased the small last year and returned it because it seemed too small around the midsection. This year I got the medium and it looks shapeless on me. I’m 5’3 and about 120. I wore a sweater under the small and this year I wore a sweatshirt under the medium.Also, this coat seems lighter than the old version. I guess that could be an indication of technological advancements and not less warmth. They are the same down fill. The zipper on the older coat is metal and this one is plastic. I’m a little disappointed in that but maybe that too makes it lighter and doesn’t mean it won’t last as long.So now I’m contemplating ordering it again in a small. Or keeping what I have and getting over it. It’s a coat and it’ll (hopefully) keep me warm. Or maybe I’ll look for another coat.Love Northface, just need to process this.
