I was skeptical of the oval chainring claims. I am an intermediate rider at best, and a notorious pedal masher with no cadence on the climbs. While the straights offered no discernible difference, it has absolutely smoothed out my pedal stroke on climbs to where the entire stroke feels usable and consistent. Well worth a try if you're replacing your worn out chainring.
