Sometimes 6" just doesn't cut it. I do jewelry boxes that are usually smaller than the 12" It is very convenient for me to use. It was not a price buster at all. I am not sure if you are a machinist it would be the go-to tool. For what I do it works excellent! It has made my life much easier.
