These are well made and pretty durable. I've only had them on for a couple months but they're well made and well thought out in design. I needed these so I can throw my college text books in there and get to/from school on the cheap. Most fit, but some books are a little too big. No problem though, because the little flap that extends down catches the wind and keeps the top closed (Not sure if this is engineering or luck). I have the Large ones mounted on a 2002 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit (VT750DC) and they fit well. XL would definitely be too big for this bike, M or L should be fine. I mounted them without the racks by just cutting a small hole in the middle of the strap and locking it over the seat mount (Under the seat). Then I tied them off with Para-cord to the bike. They lock easily if you want to with a luggage lock (Not included) and are easy to remove too. the small pouch is zippered, they're pretty waterproof, overall great.
